Teacher Education Workshop on TBI Featuring Author Kelly Darmofal, June 23

Date: June 23, 2016lost-in-my-mind

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Loving Healing Press author Kelly B. Darmofal will be featured in the workshop by the Department of Teacher Education at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC on June 23, 2016.

Since the publication of her book Lost in My Mind: Recovering From Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in November 2014, Kelly B. Darmofal has educated and inspired many with her story of survival and recovery after a near-fatal car accident in 1992. Her work has brought hope to those victims of concussion and TBI who can’t seem to be able to repair the crack in their post-trauma social life and personal development.

At the same time, as Kelly achieved a noteworthy degree of academic excellence despite the odds of TBI, her story has offered immense appeal to educators and academia. The upcoming Salem College workshop for teachers is part of this journey that Darmofal has taken on. This workshop has a particular meaning for her as Salem College is where she earned her Master’s in Special Education.

Teachers of all grade levels and subject areas are invited to participate in the workshop. Participants will be eligible for 0.6 continuing education units (CEUs).

The workshop is free but registration is required by May 27th.
